What is eDCC and what do we do?

EDCC, the e-Digital Competence Certificate scheme, assesses in electronic office skills, communications and media. The scheme offers over 70 different assessments in computer-based applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, digital photography and editing, video production, computer-based presentations, desktop publishing and web site design.

The scheme is competence based and requires no formal study, though many Colleges of Further Education and community centres accredited by us offer courses, which teach the skills required for the award of certificates. These certificates are widely recognised by educational institutions and employers.

eDCC is accredited by OCR (Oxford, Cambridge and RSA Examination Board) - www.ocr.org.uk - a leading UK awarding body which conducts regular assessments of the eDCC scheme and teaching centres to ensure that both continue to meet its strict standards. This ensures that eDCC certificates offer recipients the means of demonstrating to potential employers, or clients, that they have the relevant computer literacy skills for the job or instruction on offer.

Some eDCC assessments are also available for blind and visually impaired students - see the eDCC and the V.I. Assessments Page.
